What we do at Guernsey Mind

Guernsey Mind is a charity whose aim is to support the people of the Bailiwick, encouraging a positive attitude towards mental health and wellbeing. Anyone can access our services at Guernsey Mind – you don’t need a referral. We don’t diagnose, prescribe or provide medical guidance, but we can help you find some places for support.

We would encourage anyone who wants to talk, or is worried about someone they know, to contact us.

We offer Supported Self-help which is an early intervention service using guided tools to support your mental wellbeing. It involves 6 sessions with a trained practitioner to look at what support you need and develop a wellbeing toolkit.

What to expect

All meetings at Guernsey Mind are confidential and any personal data is stored in line with our privacy policy. Your journey will be tailored according to your specific needs.

Guernsey Mind is an independent mental health charity with all funds spent on delivering services locally in the Bailiwick.

We offer support to those aged 18+. You can self refer to our services – you do not go through your GP. We can normally book an initial appointment within two weeks. We don’t offer any diagnosis or provide medical guidance, but we can help find places for support.

Circle of Control

With so much happening in the world right now, both globally and closer to home, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed at times. These challenges can take a real toll on our wellbeing.

One helpful approach is to focus on what we can control, rather than the things we can’t. Take a moment to watch this short video for some simple tips on how to do just that.
