Primary Care Mental Health and Wellbeing Service

The Primary Care Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, funded by SSD, was launched in 2012 to provide access to an free, early intervention talking therapy service.

The service is available to everyone through referral by their GP.

Guernsey Mind is a member of the Primary Care Oversight Committee.

Mental Health Awareness Training

We offer awareness sessions about mental health which can last from 20 mins to 1hr. We can cover particular subjects for you or give a general introduction to mental health in Guernsey.

The cost of a 1hr course is £350 or by donation, short taster sessions are free.

Street Talks

We regularly take to the streets of Guernsey to talk with the general public. We highlight particular issues about mental health, encourage people to talk and to seek help where appropriate.

Most recently we spoke to shoppers at Le Friquet Garden Centre.

We also use these campaigns to find out local opinions so we can provide the services you need and campaign for better service provision.

Contact us if you would like to volunteer to organise a street talk.

We regularly manage campaigns about different aspects of mental health.

Mental Health week is held in October each year and we hold several different events to promote positive mental health for the people of Guernsey.

We hold a conference every 2 years with a mix of local and external speakers. In 2011 we ran a conference about self-harm and in 2013 our conference focused on 'Mental Wellbeing is every Employer's Business'.  In 2015 the focus was the elimination of stigma and discrimination, and we welcomed a range of speakers to our 'Change for the Good' conference.
