John Curran was appointed Chair of Guernsey Mind in June 2013. Prior to this he was Chief Executive of the Channel Islands Competition & Regulatory Authorities (CICRA) from 2010 and was Director General of the Office of Utility Regulation in Guernsey from 2005 having joined the office in 2003.
John moved to Guernsey in 2003 having worked in senior roles in utility regulation in Australia and Ireland. John is married with two children.
Emily is the Executive Director of Guernsey Mind having been appointed as their first employee in 2010. She leads the strategic advocacy programme, working with the States to develop a broad range of community based services, and to promote the growth of the Third Sector.
Prior to working for Guernsey Mind, Emily spent 5 years as a programme manager in Geneva in the field of risk governance. She worked with international business, government and voluntary agencies to develop management strategies for emerging global phenomena, such as nanotechnology and carbon sequestration. Emily began her career working in the finance industry.
Emily is currently designing the implementation plan for the States of Guernsey Mental Health and Wellbeing strategy. She has two (lovely but cheeky) children.
Jo joined Guernsey Mind in May 2015 and manages our Employee Wellbeing Service. Jo previously worked in HR roles in legal, commercial and public sectors. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. She provides support, advice and training for employers and employees around mental health and wellbeing at work.
Outside of work, Jo is kept busy with two teenagers in the house, learning how to keep bees, researching her family tree and volunteering for Guernsey Samaritans.
Nicky has been Administration Support Officer since October 2013. She used to work at the Motor Tax (don’t hold it against her) and now works at Nouvelle Maritaine supporting tenants.
Nicky has been secretary to the Mental Health Service Users Group since its start in 2007.
Nicky is an avid reader and also spends her spare time watching her son play football for Vale Rec minis.
Laurel joined Guernsey Mind in November 2016.
She runs our Social Media Sites - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn - and manages our website. She is also leading on some of our key marketing campaigns and events across the coming year.
Laurel has a backgroud in sport science, public relations, and communications/project work for charities.
Outside of work, Laurel runs her own small business, Pushy Mums, instructing exercise classes for new mums out in the park, and runs Little Champs, basic sport skills sessions for toddlers.
Jill Chadwick is the Guernsey Mind's media coordinator and also heads up the Hope Choir and 'Walk and Talk' projects.
An experienced journalist, Jill began her career at the Guernsey Press and went on to work on a wide range of national newspapers in London before returning to the island with her young daughter in the early 1990’s. She launched a number of local magazines, went on to work in marketing and PR before finding a niche in the third sector working with Autism Guernsey and Guernsey Mind.
Out of hours she enjoys singing and walking, painting and renovating houses as well as keeping track of her globetrotting daughter whose far flung dancing contracts keep Jill on her toes too.
