Freshly launched in June 2017, the Team Talk Campaign aims to promote positive mental health in sport.

Team Managers, Coaches, support staff and players all have a responsibility to look out for each other's mental wellbeing, and to create a positive and inclusive environment for everyone.

We are encouraging local sports to take positive steps to be open about mental health issues.

4 wellknown local sports men and women have publicly backed the campaign as its initial Ambassadors:

*Laura Fry (FryFit / Tri A Tri)
*Tony Vance (Guernsey FC)
*Tom Druce (Guernsey Athletics Club)
*Jemma Crouse (Guernsey Ladies Rugby)

We are also delighted to have the support of 2 further ambassadors who are both competitors in their own right, and who are long-time supporters of the local sport scene:

*Rachel Merrien (Guernsey Rugby Club)
*Alun Williams (Past-President Guernsey Athletics Club)

Our Ambassadors have signed up to our Sports Charter which means that they are committing to:

1. Attend a 1-hour workshop on mental health awareness, delivered by Guernsey Mind.

2. Bring the subject of mental wellbeing into their own team talks so that it becomes second nature to talk freely and openly about any pressures or stresses they are facing.

3. identify and signpost anyone of concern to the appropriate channels for help.

4. Actively tackle discrimination on the grounds of mental health to ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

5. Promote the Team Talk campaign to coaches and managers of other teams and encourage them to sign up to the charter, and promote the messages of the campaign through the media where opportunities arise.

6. Wear the Team Talk logo on their kit and display posters, leaflets, peg hangers, coasters as appropriate in their changing and social areas.

Ultimately, we aim to engage with all 50 sports on the island to ensure that they have the opportunity to attend our Mental Health Awareness training - Positive Mental Health in Action.
